Big man in a little toy...

Today I ran to the store for milk. This was the sight in our basement when I got home. I love these two!

P.S. I told the husband that the title was going to be inspired by "fat man in a little coat." He laughed.

Like the drool? The girl has recently had one molar come in and is working on another. We're glad she has one to work with as she has become a MUCH improved eater! Here she is taming a deer at an indoor play place near our house. She's quite the cowgirl! Giggling. Our camera's auto settings don't normally let me get a picture of her smiling (too slow) so one day I was playing and got this series. Love it. The walker has been this girl's nemesis the past few months of her life as she would scream if we placed her near it, but about a month ago she changed her mind and went for a little stroll. (Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to change the video to not be sideways.)

In other news, the girl's found her groove. She loves to dance to her toys, music on TV, her cousin singing (but not so much her parents), or apparently the music in her head. No video, but it is pretty adorable and good for a laugh. All the credit goes to her dad, for dancing with her to The Black Eyed Peas "Imma Be" on a pretty regular basis.

Look-a-like

We put new batteries in the camera and had fun playing around.

Don't you love these matching faces?

This picture is more so matching double-chins than faces, but I'll take what I can get...

She is quite sassy about going wherever she wants now that she's cruising along furniture...

and she loves it!

First picture of all three in a long time...

You Had a Birthday, Shout Hooray....

The girl turned one. What do you do with a one-year old on her birthday when it's rainy and freezing outside? We participated in several of her favorite pasttimes: we walked around the grocery store, so she could smile at everyone who came near and say "hhhhi!"; we let her sit in her big-girl (aka forward-facing) car seat; we sang "Happy Birthday" more times in one day than I think I ever have before; we had people over for her to play with, stare at, and jabber to; we let her dig into a super-sized piece of chocolate cake; and last, but not least, we spoiled the girl rotten. Below is the photographic evidence. Enjoy.

Don't you love cousin K's face in this photo?

A Day in the Life

How the girl likes to spend her days...

Reading books...even if they are upside down

Watching out the back window.....

Hangin' out with cousins...

Playing with her walking toy, although not necessarily walking behind it

Eating food. A talent she inherited from both sides of her family.

Sucker

We had a trunk or treat at our church where our family passed out Dum Dum's. The girl was initially satisfied watching all of the other kids take some candy, but after a while she took matters into her own hands and (with the help of a loving parent) opened one up. I've never seen this girl enjoy eating something so much. Her hands gripped onto the sucker as tightly as possible and she did NOT want it taken out of her mouth.
