General Adorableness

Happy...

Not so happy because I wouldn't let her have the camera...

I tried emailing these tonight, but they were too big for my email provider. So, now everyone gets to enjoy them. Lucky you!

Her cousins were kind enough to give her an Elmo toy this weekend that sings the Elmo's world theme song (the song I am butchering in the second video). She loves it and now loves to tell me about Elmo.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We went to a Royals game last night. The girl was pretty stinkin' excited about almost everything there, but not so much about the weather(rain, wind, & cold). We didn't last the whole game, but we had fun while we were there!

The girl wasn't a firm believer in wearing her hat...or sitting in her chair.

The wet result.

Reader?

We went to the library and this was her favorite part. I thought a library was for books, but apparently it's really for playing with toys!

St. Patrick's Day

Instead of just going to the parade in the city, we made out own parade. We had a ball and didn't have to fight the traffic!

The girl was treated like the princess she seems to know she is and was driven in a chariot, er bike trailer, by her cousin.

She even got to sit in a power wheels jeep, which by the smile you can see on her face, she LOVED! Thanks to everyone who helped us have a great day!

Hushabye Mountain

We had an amazing day today.

1. The girl figured out how to drink from a straw. She was quite excited when this evening it was some Pepsi instead of just the water from earlier in the day.

2. The girl crawled up the stairs by herself. Now, we just need to work some more on how to get down them.

3. The girl took 2 steps. Not a bit wobbly either. It seems like she's known how to do it for ages. She probably has too; that sneaky girl. Oh, and don't think the steps were toward us. They were toward the TV, of course. Her first love.

4. Along with the walking, she decided to upstage her parents and use the treadmill for longer than 30 minutes. Although not quite running on it yet, she sure had a ball goofing around on it.

Have we told you how much we love her? Tonight was one of those nights where we just sit and watch in amazement how far our girl has come from her tiny newborn-self. We're glad we get to be her parents.

P.S. Can you name the movie where Hushabye Mountain is sung? We had the pleasure of watching it tonight courtesy of our instant Netflix. It's amazing.

Trash Digger

The girl is always looking for new and exciting things to entertain herself. A while back, she discovered playing in the kitchen trash. I didn't mind much as she was just picking up wrappers, boxes, and throwing them on the ground. It entertained her for a few minutes so I could cook dinner, do dishes, etc. But last week that all changed. I cut the fat off some chicken and threw it away. As I was doing a few other things the girl was playing around in the kitchen. Then, I turn around and see her holding a piece of raw chicken fat in her hand--SICK. Luckily, I got it out of her hand before she made mouth-contact. The events did inspire the purchase of this shiny, new trashcan WITH A LID. Best 20 bucks we've spent in a while.
